Description and theory

Gmadd2 can be seen as a G minor triad with an added second (A) and is comparable to Gmadd9. It is usually played as a barre chord or movable shape.

Chord structure

The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, second, minor third and perfect fifth intervals. Notice that the fifth sometimes can be omitted.

Chord name

Gmadd2 is an abbreviation for G minor added second. A less common abbreviation is Gmin add2.
