Although its enharmonic equivalents Cx (C double sharp) or Ebb are theoretically valid in certain advanced harmonic situations, they are rarely used as chord roots because musicians more naturally expect D. As a result, D and Dm are far more common than Cx, Cxm, Ebb or Ebbm in everyday music notation.
