Description and theory

E7sus4 can be seen as an E dominant seventh with the third (G#) replaced by the fourth (A). It is usually played as an open chord or as a barre chord.

Chord structure

The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, perfect fourth, perfect fifth and minor seventh intervals. Notice that the fifth is sometimes omitted.
