Description and theory

C6 is usually played as a movable shape or in open positions.

Chord structure

The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, major third, perfect fifth and major sixth. Notice that the fifth is sometimes omitted.

Chord name

C6 is an abbreviation for C sixth. A less common abbreviation is Cadd6 (added 6th).
