Description and theory

Badd9 can be seen as a B triad with an added ninth (C#) and is comparable to Badd2. It is usually played as one of the possible movable shapes (since all the chord notes, except the root, are absent among the open strings in standard tuning, there are no simple fingerings in open positions). It's seldom played as a barre chord.

Chord structure

The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, major third, perfect fifth and major ninth intervals. Notice that the seventh isn't included and also that the fifth sometimes can be omitted.
