Description and theory

Abmadd9 is equivalent to G sharp minor added 9th. Abmadd9 can be seen as an Ab minor triad with an added ninth (Bb) and is comparable to Abmadd2.

Chord structure

The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, minor third, perfect fifth and major ninth intervals. Notice that the seventh isn't included and also that the fifth sometimes can be omitted.

Abmadd9 is an abbreviation for A flat minor added ninth. A less common abbreviation is Abmin add9.
