Fadd9 can be seen as an F triad with an added ninth (G) and is comparable to Fadd2. It is usually played in closed position since there are no natural or simple fingerings in open positions. Nor is it commonly played as a barre chord.
Chord structure
The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, major third, perfect fifth and major ninth intervals. Notice that the seventh isn't included and also that the fifth sometimes can be omitted.
