Adim is usually played as one of three movable shapes depending on the most fitting position on the fretboard.
Shown in the Fingerings diagram is a movable shape involving four strings and four fingers – an alternative is to bar three strings on the 13th fret with one finger.
As shown in Notes diagram, three notes are included with root (A) doubling.
Notice that the diagram starts at the 12th fret rather than the 1st fret.

The chord consists of three notes. The notes represent the root, minor third and diminished fifth intervals.

Adim is an abbreviation for A diminished. A shorter abbreviation sometimes used is Aº.
