Description and theory

Aadd2 can be seen as an A triad with an added second (B) and is comparable to Aadd9. It is usually played as an open chord or as one of the possible movable shapes. It's seldom played as a barre chord.

Chord structure

The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, second, major third and perfect fifth intervals. Notice that the fifth sometimes can be omitted.
