Beginner chord progressions – lesson 4
In the fourth part of the lesson series the tempo will increase from 80 to 100 beats per minute. In 4/4 time, a bar will last almost 2.5 seconds in this specific tempo. It may take some time to adjust from 80 bpm.
G | D | C | C
1st bar | 2nd bar | 3rd bar | 4th bar
Repeats: 5 times
Time signature: 4/4
This lesson introduce only one new chord, the D major, another fundamental chord to learn.
Alternative chords diagrams
Two possible variations, which sometimes are played unconsciously by the way, are the inversions C/E and D/A. Since E and A are part of the C major and D major, respectively, it will not sound wrong playing the chords with these alternate bass notes.
