Description and theory

Gadd9 can be seen as a G triad with an added ninth (A) and is comparable to Gadd2. It is usually played as an open chord or as one of the possible movable shapes. It's seldom played as a barre chord.

Chord structure

The chord consists of four notes. The notes represent the root, major third, perfect fifth and major ninth intervals. Notice that the seventh isn't included and also that the fifth sometimes can be omitted.
