Theory

Am is the i (one) chord in A minor keys and the vi (six) chord in its parallel key C major.

A minor key

All these chords except Bdim is often seen in progressions alongside Am.

A harmonic minor key
i ii° III+ iv V VI vii#°
Am Bdim Caug Dm E F G#dim

Sometimes E major is used instead of E minor in A minor progressions – E major is constructed from notes in the A harmonic minor scale.

C major key
I ii iii IV V vi vii°
C Dm Em F G Am Bdim

Since the C major scale include the same notes as the A minor scale, the chords are the same but with changed order and functions.
