Description and theory

F#6/9 is equivalent to Gb6/9. It's usually played as a movable shape or in open positions.

Chord structure

The chord consists of five notes. The notes represent the root, major third, perfect fifth, major sixth and major ninth intervals. Notice that the fifth is sometimes omitted.

F#6/9 is an abbreviation for F sharp sixth added ninth. A less common abbreviation is F#6add9.
