Beginner chord progressions – lesson 4

In the fourth part of the lesson series the tempo will increase from 80 to 100 beats per minute. In 4/4 time, a bar will last almost 2.5 seconds in this specific tempo. It may take some time to adjust from 80 bpm.

Alternative chords diagrams

Two possible variations, which sometimes are played unconsciously anyway, are the inversions C/E and D/A. Since E and A are part of the C major and D major, respectively, it will not sound wrong playing the chords with these alternate bass notes.
